Northeast - Semifinal
We're kicking off this week's explosive wrap up with our Northeast region! The Northeast region can easily be considered one of, if not, the most competitive regions of the ICCA competition. What's more, #TVCFam absolutely dominated the standings, and completely swept the special awards! In third place, the NYU N’Harmonics are moving onto the Wild Card round, scoring a total of 345 points. No stranger to the competition scene, our friends in Upper Structure absolutely crushed it! The Berklee group earned 379 points and went home with special awards for Samuel Dantowitz's solo for "She Used To Be Mine," as well as an award for Sarah Zorrilla's incredible percussion for the entire set. Returning to the Finals stage once again, the Northeastern University Nor’easters slammed down a killer set, scoring a staggering 430 points, and securing three special awards - one for Ryan Hannon's choreography for the whole set, as well as awards for Anthony Rodriguez's solo for "Writing's on the Wall" and Elliott von Wendt's stellar arrangement of "Creeks." Way to slay, fam!
Congratulations to The Nor’easters for advancing to The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals on April 22nd at The Beacon Theatre in New York City!
Northwest - Semifinal
Out west, the top eight groups in the region battled it out for a chance to sing their hearts out at the Beacon Theatre. In third place, the Stanford Mendicants went home with 361 points. Their season isn't over yet - they'll have a shot at Wild Card along with the second place group, UO's Mind the Gap. Mind The Gap fought incredibly hard throughout the whole season, finishing second in their region with 389 points! Their hard work was compensated even further with awards for Macy Hyland's choreography for the whole set, and breathtaking solo for "In The Name Of Love." Moving on to the Finals for the first time ever, University of Washington's Furmata A Cappella held on to a first place finish - blasting the competition away with their 434 point set, as well as earning special awards for Maggie Maser and Andrew Lee's arrangements for the entire set, as well as Austin Kim's VP for the entire set as well!
Congratulations to Furmata A Cappella for advancing to The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals on April 22nd at The Beacon Theatre in New York City!
Mid-Atlantic - Semifinal
At the Playhouse on Rodney Square, the Mid-Atlantic region battled it out for the regional championship title! Our third place competitors, the Villanova Supernovas, went home with 318 points, and a shot at Wild Card! Joining them for the Wild Card round, the University of Delaware's Vocal Point showed the competition what's up, nearly taking the victory with 382 points, just eleven shy of our ICCA Mid-Atlantic Champions, the Towson University Trills! This seven-member powerhouse group bested the entire region, earning 393 points and special awards for their entire set's arrangements, as well as Aaron Bayne's killer beatboxing skills. The Trills are making waves as first-time ICCA Finalists, as well as one of the smallest groups to ever go to Finals! Nice job! Additionally, the judges chose to award some outstanding awards to some deserving groups who didn't place - Patty Alzaibak's solo of Sigma’cappella for "Voodoo Child," as well as John Larson and Carley Powers' of the Melismatics for their choreography for "Reincarnation."
Congratulations to The Trills for advancing to The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals on April 22nd at The Beacon Theatre in New York City!
Central - Semifinal
The fairly new ICCA Central Region holds some of the highly competitive Ohio Valley regional groups, as well as our neighbors to the north in Canada! As such, events like these happily remind us here in the States that our Canadian neighbors to the north are just as fair to be reckoned with! The University of Waterloo's Water Boys from Waterloo, Ontario will be advancing to the ICCA Finals on April 22nd, scoring 339 points, taking home special awards for Yifan Wu and Koby Pathmanathar's choreography for the entire set, as well as Koby Pathmanathar's vocal percussion for the entire set as well! In second place, the University of Pittsburgh's Pittch Please earned 309 points. Their second place set also earned Maurice Goodwin and Danny Mayhak each a solo award for "Train Wreck," aided by Zach Donovan's outstanding arrangement of the same song. SUNY Potsdam's Potsdam Pitches rounded out the standings, earning 301 points, and third place. Lastly, Ian Wolfe of The Coda Conduct took home an outstanding arrangement award as well for "Garands."
Congratulations to The Water Boys for advancing to The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals on April 22nd at The Beacon Theatre in New York City!
Midwest - Semifinal
With eleven groups advancing to the semifinal round, the stakes were high and the odds were against our competitors in the Midwest! However, our victors, the Ohio State University's Ohio State of Mind perservered, crushing the competition and earning 381 points! In addition to advancing to Finals, Ohio State of Mind also claimed two special awards for Gabe Geiger's awesome VP, as well as Jojo Otseidu's mashup arrangement of "Side to Side" and "Chains." In second place, the MSU Beartones received 346 points, as well as an award for Luke Thomas' choreography for "All Time Low." They'll be moving on to the Wild Card round along with the third place group, Washington University in St. Louis' Stereotypes! The Stereotypes earned 316 points for the evening. Lastly, the judges were wholly impressed with Kayla Robertson's solo for "Here's Where I Stand," sending her home with the solo award for her and her group, Sedoctave.
Congratulations to Ohio State of Mind for advancing to The International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella Finals on April 22nd at The Beacon Theatre in New York City!
United Kingdom - Semifinal
Across the pond, the United Kingdom region stays dominating the a cappella scene, and this season is no exception. We're incredibly proud of our victors - the University of Bath's own Aquapella will be moving on to the ICCA Finals in New York City to represent the UK! Led by #TVCFam and Marketing Intern Erin McCullough, their incredible 359 point set netted them the ONLY special award of the night, for Georgia Blessitt's solo of "Purple Rain." We're super proud of them and you should go check out their new EP, Lambda, available on Spotify, iTunes, and Google Play! Coming in second, the Kings College, London Rolling Tones earned 344 points, and in third, the University of Bristol's Bristol Suspensions earned 329 points! Both groups will have a chance to join Aquapella at Finals through the Wild Card round!

South - Semifinal
The South has always been a hub for a cappella and has bred some of the best groups in the nation! One staple group that never ceases to amaze every year happens to be returning to the ICHSA Finals stage for the second year in a row! Cypress Lake's TAG – The A Cappella Group has reclaimed their South Champion title once again, earning 390 points and taking home a special award for Kennedy Floethe's solo for "The Words." Nice title defense TAG! Vying for the Wild Card title, our second place group, Tonal Spectrum earned 356 points, delivering a stellar set. New Manchester High School's In Tone Nation really came through though; despite earning 345 points and placing third, they took home three special awards - arrangement, choreography, and vocal percussion (to Chris Daniel) - all for their entire set! Way to go! The judges also awarded Josh Moon of Fifth Measure for his VP as well, also for the entire set.

Ten points behind them, Madison High's Madison Avenue earned 394 points and a shot at Wild Card, along with Flower Mound High School's C'est la Vie, who earned 349 points and third place! Kylee Shipp of A-Side also took home a solo award for "Valerie," and Lilly Britton and Josh Taniguchi of Out Of The Blue took outstanding choreography for their entire set!
